Melissa leads ComEd’s Government, Regulatory and External Affairs organization with responsibility for governmental affairs, external affairs, regulatory strategy and affairs, and economic and workforce development. She also oversees ComEd’s relationships with civic and charitable organizations. She serves as a member of the ComEd Management Committee and has more than 20 years of utility industry experience.

ComEd is a unit of Chicago-based Exelon Corporation (NASDAQ: EXC). ComEd delivers electricity to more than 4 million residential and business customers across northern Illinois, or 70 percent of the state’s population.

Melissa joined Exelon in 2003 and has held several roles of increasing responsibility for Exelon and ComEd. Prior to her current role, Melissa served as senior vice president of ComEd’s Customer Operations organization, where she was responsible for business and residential account management, customer billing and credit, contact center and meter service operations, energy efficiency, demand response, and building and transportation electrification. In addition, she oversaw ComEd’s economic and workforce development strategies, and the company’s civic and philanthropic partnerships. Other previous roles held at ComEd include senior vice president of Governmental and External Affairs; vice president of Governmental and External Affairs; vice president of External Affairs and Large Customer Services; and vice president of Regulatory Policy and Strategy.

From 2014 to 2016, Melissa played a leading role in the successful merger between Exelon and Pepco Holdings while serving as the vice president of Corporate Affairs in Washington, D.C.

Before joining ComEd’s Regulatory team, Melissa was the director of Investor Relations for Exelon. In that role, she was responsible for communicating Exelon’s value proposition, financial results and performance drivers to the financial community.
