Michael Sacks

Michael Sacks serves as Chairman and CEO of GCM Grosvenor, a global alternative asset management firm managing over $90 billion in assets across private equity, infrastructure, real estate, credit, and absolute return strategies. Since joining the firm in 1990 and becoming chief executive in 1994, he has led GCM Grosvenor’s evolution into a diversified investment manager serving a global client base.

Sacks is also widely involved in civic, philanthropic, and economic development leadership. He served as Chair of the 2024 Democratic National Convention Host Committee and is a Founding Board Member of the Obama Foundation. He currently serves as a Trustee of Northwestern University and the Art Institute of Chicago, and as a Board Member of Northwestern Memorial Healthcare, and After School Matters. In 2025, he was named Crain’s Chicago Business Executive of the Year. He holds a B.A. in Economics from Tulane University, an M.B.A. from the Northwestern University Kellogg School of Management, a J.D. from the Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law and a General Course Certificate from the London School of Economics.
