Michelle Conger is currently the president of OSF HealthCare and has been selected by The Sisters of the Third Order of St. Francis to be the next health system chief executive officer succeeding Bob Sehring in April of 2026. She has been serving OSF since 1993, when she first began in a clinical role at OSF HealthCare Saint Francis Medical Center. Michelle was named chief strategy officer for the health care Ministry in 2010 and continued in that role after being named chief executive officer of OSF OnCall Digital Health in 2018.

Michelle has collaborated in the ongoing planning of the long-term strategy of OSF HealthCare resulting in an aggressive growth and partnership strategy. She has led the system wide digital strategy and innovation to produce new and innovative virtual care models to drive transformation and achieve excellence, which is recognized throughout the health care industry.

Her professional accolades are many and include being named one of Modern Healthcare’s Top Innovators (2022) and to Becker’s list of great leaders in health care renowned for deftly adjusting to changes across the industry and actively shaping and driving transformation (2025). She was also named to Becker’s list of health system chief strategy officers to know (2023 and 2024). She was awarded the Athena Woman of the Year (2024) by the Peoria Chamber of Commerce. Ms. Conger holds a master’s in social work from the University of Illinois.
